Here is my music video analysis of Madonna's 1989 "Like a Prayer", (I downloaded the video and thereafter annotated it):
In conclusion, this was a successful promotional campaign and garnered lots of KPIs because of the controversy and discussion sparked by the raunchy, controversial, rule-breaking music video. Madonna's star image in the 80s had always revolved around her identity as a bad girl, sex symbol and controversial music star and this video just upheld and reaffirmed such an ideology. The video, with all its racial, gender and biblical messages, alongside Madonna's sexually implicit dancing and clothing, would have gathered a lot of publicity by the press, thus spreading word on the song's release and causing more people to listen to it.
