Before we can definitely use our location to film at, we need to make sure that is has been sufficiently risk assessed. This is especially important for our group considering that our music video is consisting of potentially hazardous activities. It is also important that whilst we are risk assessing the house we make sure that the owners are 100% comfortable with what we are doing.
The importance of a risk assessment is so that nothing goes wrong on the shoot day and that none of our cast or crew are potentially put into dangerous situations. This is especially vital considering that we are considering flooding one of the bathrooms and potentially knocking down a wall (or wardrobe) with a sledgehammer. Without a risk assessment, we won’t know which parts of the house are safest for our activities to operate in.
Consequently, we have arranged with our teacher and the owner of the house to undergo a risk assessment in the afternoon of Tuesday 8th November. Should the house be approved of, we will be filming two weeks following.
When originally updating the owners of the house, we were told that most of our ideas were acceptable but that the pool was off limits so we adjusted our plans accordingly:
Whilst our current plan has already been given approval of, we think it wise to just reaffirm that the owners of the house are consenting and happy for us to go ahead with what we’re planning on, so that there are no issues when our shoot day comes along.
UPDATE: Due to unfortunate circumstances, we had to reschedule the risk assessment for next week on Tuesday 15th.
